Lyrics

Verse 1

Old Tongue

shan'an manetheran

allein vid strin a marcador

vinfrait mazera xatanu

kutyasane tarmon nagin

Official English

Lord of the Two Rivers

The man of the Axe and the Hammer

Unwavering pride of the Blacksmiths

The final days are known

Literal Translation

of (the) Lord of Manetheren

man with axe and hammer

unwavering pride (of the) blacksmith

known (are the) last days

Notes

Shan'an would appear to combine the preposition an in an unusual suffix configuration. Further, we see Manetheren rendered as Manetheran. Either this is a typo, or this is the genitive form of Manetheren ("of Manetheren"), doubling the genitive to apply both to "lord" and to "Manetheren", i.e. "of the Lord of Manetheren". This seems reasonably likely.

Vinfrait literally would translate as "hold strong", i.e. "unwavering".

Kutyasane appears to be a variant of kutya, likely "kutyasa", which seems to mean "know" but in a more felt sense than sanasa. Kutyasane is the past tense form.

Young Bull with Golden eyes

Literal Translation
